I'm Movin On

I really am just horrible at keeping up with this blog. The problem is I don't have a lot going on in my life that needs documented. The things that are blog worthy don't make it here because they happen quickly and are over with before I can even think about writing.

But today I have a blog-worthy entry. I am taking over my sisters lease and she is moving back home. I'm not nearly as excited as I thought I would be because it's not an ideal situation. It's not necessarily the apartment I would choose. And I have been living at home for as long as possible while I paid on my student loans and saved for a house. But she needs the help right now so I'm being a good sister.

So all day today I've been packing stuff and moving it into the apt. And moving Ambers things back home. I'm completely worn out now. I am more excited today than I was before. There is still Sooo much to do.

Now I need to take a bubble bath and relax :)

Reading List

I just came across a list of books on Mimi's blog. In the entry she had placed an "X" next to each book she has read. After realizing that it's a pretty great list, I decided to make it my reading list. I printed off the list and glued it onto the front and back of a piece of cardboard. I highlighted the eight books I have already read. I thought about starting at the top of the list but it's Pride and Predjudice and that seems a little heavy to start with. Not only that but making myself follow that list will make it seem too controlled. I think I will start with # 19. The Time Traveler's Wife. My co-worker said it's pretty amazing. It's my goal to have a good 35-40 percent of them read by the end of the year. We will see how that goes. I'm going to stop at the library today on my way to the gym and pick one up so that I can start today.

On another note, Kyle and I have been spending a lot of time with my co-worker, Monica and her family. She has two children, Isabelle and Spencer and they are so much fun. Izzy is 6 and Spencer is 4. We have baked cookies, gone to dinner, played Wii, watched movies, and all kinds of other fun things. On Sunday we went to the Ball State basketball game. The kids had fun but were ready to leave halfway through the second period. Charlie Cardinal came over to see them but they didn't like him too much.

It's a BeautifuLife

Lately, my life has seemed like a whirlwind. An "average" day has consisted of going in to work at 7:30, prepping for morning meetings, having morning meetings, prepping for afternoon meetings, having afternoon meetings. Then, when I should be leaving from work in an hour or so, I have to actually start my work so that the next days meetings can happen. I have been working until at least 6 or 7 and then being worn out and not wanting to do anything else. Sometimes I take my work home with me so that I can get it done. It seems crazy to think that I have only been in this job for 4 months because it just seems so much longer.
But don't think I am complaining... I love it. I am so grateful to have a job that I love and want to work extra hours. I feel so lucky to be in my hometown, which I love, and be with my family and close to my friends. Kyle and I are doing great and are finally on the same page. I know that I have said that so many times but I feel like it's finally true. And when the time is right we will be a family. :)
While I have never felt good at making friends, I have grown really close to the people that I work with and their families. Don't get me wrong, I have lots of friends. But I have always been shy and getting myself to open up to new people is hard. I have had it easy my whole life because in grade school, people sought me out to be my friend. I didn't have to look for them. And in college, I gained friends through 3 vices: Kyle, Phi Mu, and interior design classes. Kyle lived on campus so he made a lot of the close friends we have now through the dorms. Becoming a Phi Mu opened doors to so many things. I met wonderful, intelligent women with great morals. While my time with them was short, it has really helped me become the lady that I am. I will always be thankful to them for that opportunity. And lastly, the interior design program was so small, that it was impossible not to become friends with those in all my classes. Anyways, I digress. I have made great lasting friendships with my coworkers and bosses. And that makes it easy to love my job.
So this post has been a lot of blabbing and I need to restart my work day- came in at 7 this morning. Thought I owed it to myself to take 15 minutes to post.

I cannot believe that this month is already over half over! I feel
like it was Christmas just last week. And ringing in the new year
happened this past weekend. It's crazy!
So my current major project is apartment hunting. It's a bittersweat
process because while I'm definitely ready for a place to call mine
(or at least half mine), it's sad to be moving away from my
grandparents. I've lived with them for basically my whole life and
they do everything for me.
Okay, enough of the sentiments... I'm super excited to find a place. I
had my heart set on The Bob, which is the new apartments going into
the old Roberts Hotel. Too bad it's about twice as much as I can
afford. But it's a college town and I am not giving up! I'm going to
be living with Ashleigh or maybe Emily. It all depends on what happens
for them after graduation. I hope that they can both land awesome jobs
and I know that they will. I just hope that they are in Muncie! ;)
Lately when Kyle and I are bored we look up jokes online. It sounds
pretty lame but we can crack up for hours and just take it easy.
Usually we look up a couple until we find one that we can't stop
laughing at then we stop and randomly one of us will repeat part of
the joke and we can't stop laughing again. Here's our most recent
hilarious find...
One day a man was walking past a mental hospital when he heard moaning
coming from inside saying "13...13...13...13...". The man saw a hole
in the wall so he peeked in and got his eye poked. The moaning voice
groaned "14...14...14...14...".
Hahahaha... Funny stuff. #

Holiday Prep

Work has been so unbelievably busy lately. I have been working on a healthcare project mostly but on Friday everyone from the office (all five of us lol) went to a credit union we are doing and unloaded 3 semi-trucks of furniture. This is not normally the type of job we do but I guess we were getting a good deal on it. Unloading three trucks in one day itself is pretty crazy but it was also only 15 degrees and snowing for half of the day. Talk about crazy.

Christmas decorating as also been a big thing lately. Another, project we do not normally do but it was for clients we are working with now anyways, so we just added it to our duties. It was insane. Our office also had to be decorated for our open house that we had during First Thursday, that is an artsy event in downtown Muncie the first thursday (how cleaver a name) of every month. It was a fun event.

Kyle and I went to the Christmas tree lighting down at Circle Center. Here are some pictures!

We ran into Katie and Molly! It was good to see them.

My life now consists of lots of planning. Planning for Kyle's birthday, planning Christmas parties, planning New Years Eve party, planning for the trip to the GMAC Bowl. All fun things!!!
