Best night of my life

Thirteen hours ago I had no idea what I was in for. Had someone told me "this will be the best night of your life," I probably wouldn't believe them. I mean, what about high school or college graduation? What about the night I meet Kyle or the night we started dating? But boy, was I in for a big surprise...

About 6 years ago, that is a complete exaggeration but that's what it seems like, Emily, Ashleigh, and I bought tickets to see New Kids on the Block. We patiently waited the 6 years and it ended last night. After driving 4.5 hours up to Auburn Hills, MI, we hoped that the money and time spent would be worth it. We all agree now that had they only sang one song it would still have been worth it.

A Jamican singer, Tami Chynn and Natasha Beddingfield opened up and did a great job. Emily and I got ourselves pumped up by screaming "Unwritten" at the top of our lungs. And when NKOTB came out... Lets just say the screaming didn't end until the show did. I don't really know how to describe the experience because you definately had to be there to understand. But they did a great mix of old and new songs. The three of us girls sang along to every song and couldn't help but to shout out how incredibly gorgeous all of them are. Photo's are below so you can get just a little taste of how awesome the night was.

Lol, this is my attempt to take a picture of myself with NKOTB. They are the fuzzy, blurry thing in the top corner :)

The stadium was HUGE and it was FULL. One of the coolest things to see was everyone waving their hands in the air during "Hangin Tough".

It was an amazing experience and I was so glad to be able to go with my girls!

Off to Jasper

This week came with some exciting news. Thursday and Friday I went on [my first] business trip. Myself, along with my boss and co-worker and a group of decision makers from Taylor University, traveled to Salem and Jasper, IN to visit a furniture company. We went to a manufacturing plant, a showroom, testing lab, and the headquarters. It was really fun to see those things, as well as extremely educational as a new designer. It really helps me to familiarize myself with the line and the company. The trip was actually for Taylor; they are looking to standardize on a furniture company. This basically means that all furniture needed for the university would be purchased with the selected company. From the Purchasing Director's standpoint, it makes things a lot less complicated because he only has to keep up on one company and only has to deal with one distributor. The group will also travel to another furniture company's showroom in Grand Rapids, MI. It is unsure as of this time if I will be able to tag along on this trip. It would be really fun though because they will be flying on a private jet directly to the company's private runway. :) That would be exciting.

While visiting the furniture company was exciting and educational, the most fun part was a stop that we made at West Baden. I had never been before but it is beautiful. It has to be one of the most extravagant buildings I have ever seen first hand. I am including a photo below but I will try to upload the ones that I took later today. It is a hotel with restaurants, gardens, and a golf course. We were fortunate enough to have lunch in the cafe and it was heaven! I couldn't get over the fact that it is in Indiana.
